Over the past few years, I’ve been quietly building an archive of creative work that fulfills several goals for me as an artist and as a human. My primary focus is on strenthening my technical ability to execute paintings that match the way I see things visually, which has been a humbling process! I've dabbled in many art forms throughout my life, and I'm proud to add podcasting to the list.
These 6"x6" paintings were completed through Acrylic University, with Aimee Erickson. I've admired Aimee's work for quite some time, and this was just the experience I craved. The biggest success for me was in completing more paintings in a year than I ever have before.
It's important for me to point out that this is Derivative artwork, in that it leans heavily on someone else's work, and while with some pieces I deviated from the original, these are not original works of art. I'll be sharing original work this summer.
What began as a series of interviews with my parents evolved into a podcast. It all started with a recommended article from Pocket, "24 Questions You Should Ask Your Parents, While You Can" from Amy Gibson on Huffpost Canada. I am forever grateful that I got past my fears and approached my Mom and Dad with the idea. Please know that I promised that the end result would remain private, however, in the coming weeks I'll be sharing more about the project, including the 38 questions that I ended up asking.
